With its philosophical grounding in George Orwell's 1984, the Ministry of Love website describes its purpose as follows:

The goal of this blog is to collect 315 copies of Orwell’s 1984 and send them to every member of Congress who voted for the Military Commissions Act of 2006.

...To recognize those who have brought us one step closer to the utopian world envisioned by Orwell, Miniluv will enclose a handwritten note with each copy of 1984, thanking each 315 Inner Party Member individually for their achievement.

Too often we hear -- only half in jest, it seems -- that 'Big Brother is watching.' And these days it's becoming more and more the case with legislation such as the Military Commissions Act and the warrantless domestic surveillance bills still pending in the Congress.

ShadowMonkey is gathering bananas to obtain a few copies of 1984 to contribute to the cause, along with personal dedications to the Virginia Congressional delegation.

For more information, head on over to the Ministry of Love.
